Booting Up Mobile Health, IFTF

August 8, 2014

The Institute for the Future (IFTF) is a non-profit research organization with more than 45 years of forecasting experience that helps organizations from a wide range of sectors make the futures they want. IFTF’s core research staff and creative design studio work together to provide practical foresight for a world undergoing rapid change.[1] They identify emerging trends and discontinuities that will transform global society and the global marketplace.

The IFTF Health Horizons Program brings together a wide variety of stakeholders—from health care to food and retail—to work toward more resilient responses for the complex challenges facing global health.[2] ”Booting Up Mobile Health”[3] explores how the convergence of constant connectivity, a decentralizing health care system, and extreme mobility will reshape the delivery and provision of health care services by 2019. By pointing to early signals of change, the report covers some of the foundational technologies causing this shift and offers implications for how mobile technology will impact the lives of individuals and communities in the future.
